Instead of posting a movement bank and directing a fieldwork score this week, we were instructed to reflect on our experiences in group forms thus far...
I believe that the biggest thing that I have learned this semester is to trust myself and my process. The first couple of movement banks felt somewhat forced and unnatural. I was too focused on the task at hand that I lost the “me” in it. As we have progressed I have realized that if I meditate and deeply think about the task or subject we’re focusing on, movement will come naturally. I need to leave myself time to think and try things rather than just try to crank material out. I appreciate all of the different workshops we have been able to have because each experience has been completely different from the next. I feel that each of these experiences has contributed to my new ease in making for assignments as well as making for fun.
